Guayusa is a flowering plant in the Aquifoliaceae family. Guayusa leaves have a slightly sweet flavor and are considered a real "stimulator" due to their caffeine content. Its leaves have been eaten for centuries by Amazonian peoples, especially the Kichwa natives. It is also considered a superfood because it contains an incredible amount of phenolic compounds and antioxidants, responsible for its energizing and stimulating properties. It is less exciting than tea and coffee and does not cause insomnia in regular consumers.
